An excursion aimed at students from the 6th grade onwards. An insight into the multifaceted world of the harbour, with emphasis on geographical and economical aspects. This excursion can be used as a base for other courses with similar subject matter.
Harbour portraits: Work flow at the harbour yesterday – today – tomorrow. After a geographical introduction, the tour leads you to the middle section of the Freeport where the buzz of activity is palpable. Starting at the landing bridges the ferry takes us through a maze of narrow canals, bridges and sluices, into a tangle of cranes and industrial buildings. Carrying on by foot we explore an area steeped in economic tradition, where businesses have been competing for trade for generations. Students will then have an opportunity to use technical equipment.
The way back remains a surprise
